Sounds like you focus too much during these cycles. The key is to allow yourself fall asleep as quickly as possible, therefore the cycles should be performed in very relaxed manner.

Fair enough. I should add that, a couple times since I wrote this I did have an FA without becoming lucid, followed by more dreams that, even though they weren't lucid, they were much more stable and vivid than what I'm used to. I'll keep at it and dial back the intensity. Thanks for your answer.
