Hell, I picked up a top of the line T420s refurb months ago. i7 2640M, 128GB removable SSD (2.5 inch), 4GB ram, 1900X600, Nvidia 4200M. Now has 16GB of ram and 256 SSD, and still cost me under $320 total. Also, i don't need to carry a dongle for ethernet or VGA or display port (oh, who am i kidding, no one uses native display port).
I think Thinkpads are sexy. Dat matte black.

Which model? Are you sure it's LPDDR3, and not DDR3? I can't see a model with LPDDR3 with 32GB, but their site is awfully hard to search...
I see Dell sell some [low profile DDR3 SO-DIMMs](http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&sku=a7209025), confusingly listed as "LP DDR3" with a space. Does the laptop you're using use those? Those use DDR3 memory, despite the very confusing name.
While that's true, the pendulum has swung way too far to "thin for thins sake".
If I had to reboot multiple times during the workday I would lose my fucking mind.
I'm banking on this Ubuntu / Windows integration to turn into something useful.
Well of course you didn't think so, that's why we here at Apple thought of it for you, now buy it.
This whole angle makes the [Razer Blade](http://www.razerzone.com/gaming-systems/razer-blade) series even funnier.
Nothing about the new MBP justifies the price in regards to hardware. I get that they are stable and reliable as hell, I've been using one for 6 years. I just don't get their pricing.
OBSERVE AS ALAN WALKS ON STAGE AND SLITS HIS THROAT WITH THE THINNEST MACBOOK WE'VE EVER MADE
It's the same amount of ram, but it is a fair bit faster than what is in your 2012. 1600MHz vs 2133MHz
Looks like there are no more macs in my future.
Why so many vms? What do you use them for?
The only professional computers are windows computers
Why is everyone so dependent on Macbooks? I work in IT as an external IT for dozens and dozens of companies, and not a single one use Macbooks for anything more than a personal play-thing. They don't even work on them, they use Windows machines for that.
there's no lightning dongle. Those are USB-C ports.
We agree on that point, both in Macs and iPhones.
MacBook ProX
> They like standardizing so they can create a seamless ecosystem
How does that explain USB-c + Lightning between MBP and iPhone7?
So are the keyboards. Fine as a laptop keyboard, I expect a less than perfect typing experience for the sake of portability, but holy shit. I'm at a desktop, so why is the default keyboard a fucking laptop keyboard? I've never used anything that makes my wrists cry out in pain so fucking quickly, it's unreal. At least I can change the keyboard at a desktop still.
Microsoft has always had some of the best engineers in the game. The issue is that their management and internal politics are kind of horrifying.
Man, Thinkpad X1 Carbon wants to have a few words with you. That's a hot little laptop, and crazy powerful for the size and weight too.
*ahem* I believe you are referring to the *MacBook Pro+ S Gold X Edition(TM)... Rose coloured* ?
Nah, they'll just release a dongle that allows you to connect two macbook pros together.
Well...think about the portability?
As a programmer who uses VIM, this was my very first thought. What kind of professionals are these machines designed for? I've been using VIM since college. I don't need Apple fucking with my workflow. My job has given me a MacBook Pro and I have a MacBook Air (with an SD slot, btw). I was looking to trade my Air in, but sorry, what Apple has rolled out is unacceptable. For now, I'll continue using what I have. When it's time to upgrade, I might just get a Windows machine and throw Ubuntu on it.
To me, one of the things I liked about Apple was not launching gimmicky tech. The touchbar screams "gimmick" to me. If I want touch, I'll use a real touch device. If I want to actually get work done, I'm not going to dick around with some half-assed touch bar. I love Mac but with the iPhone 7 and now this, this is two products of theirs that I'm not going to get. It's like they're trying to get rid of the user base that actually does shit with their products and appeal to people who are more consumed with how much thinner their products are.
Jony Ive is everything wrong with Apple. It'd be more forgivable if the designs looked better.
They've put pretty above functionality, and missed the entire point of pretty in the first place: to enhance the machine/human interface.
Bring back coloured icons to Finder et al.!
I was wrong, I am using ddr3L as in low voltage. Just not lpddr3
I used to do that and it was as annoying as you'd think. Then I got a new laptop with 32GB of RAM and now I run Ubuntu in a Windows VM.
