It only needs to be one atom thinner so that they can call it thinner so really could have made it "thinner" and then put more batter in it stilll.
Thinner case filled with lies. Extra RAM has alibis. Nothing inside, open your eyes. You know it's SAD BUT TRUUUUUEEEEE.
they have an auto use your warranty function too
You wouldn't believe the battery life on my Motorola Razr flip phone. That doesn't mean it's cutting edge. Pun deeeeefintely intended.
try upgrading to 64 MB ;)
You are correct skylake supports 16g ddr3 dims without ecc/r/u. I have 2x16g in my aw13.
But it doesn't look sexy and thin. Nor can I pretend to be a savvy tech designer geek with it.
http://ark.intel.com/ I don't track CPU to *type* of memory like the previous user made their statement - but I always eyeball the Intel KB into models of CPU's and their associated specs before I make a build. Previous user was probably an over-generalization by stating 'Intel' without a release of CPU.
That doesn't justify them not offering a variant that can go beyond 16GB with a different chipset like Dell does.
More pissed about not having a real fucking escape key. Does no one at apple use vim?
Same, I've long been covering the apple logo with a sticker, and I don't like stickering my things.
They seem about the same in this comparison. https://www.yahoo.com/news/macbook-pro-vs-surface-book-fight-215049823.html?ref=gs Only real difference is that one has the touch bar, the other had a detachable tablet portion and stylus. I guess if you're into having ports that's big plus too.
Apple lives by the creeds, "form over function," and, "get money, fuck bitches,".
Well not anymore. They took out the light now.
I mean, pro gamers are a thing, and I'm sure Sony is happy to sell a dream that if you buy the PS4 Pro, you'll magically transform into a top tier COD player with your superior system.
Because people have more money than sense.
Photo retouchers in my office have 128GB RAM and sometimes that isn't enough. When you get super high res files with dozens of layers of smart objects, the PSB files often get to 20GB or more. It's ridiculous.
Thicker can't be proer. Macbook Novice.
MacBook Pro+
I always get the mental note of "but why?!" whenever I read of their decision to go thinner for the sake of "looking nice". I want and have the need for well engineered machine that wouldn't break from slight roughness from my day to day handling. Also, I would love to have the machine go on as long as possible without running out of power. I need it to work well, long lasting power, toughness, and don't need to show off how sexy it is to strangers. This goes the same for mobile phones.
Office 365 runs on Linux. It even runs on ChromeOS.
> redesign the motherboard to support DDR4, which draws more power Do you have a source that DDR4 draws more power per bit that LPDDR3? And wouldn't LPDDR4 be even more power efficient if that was their goal?
Fuck how am I going to judge them now?!
I don't think that's correct. I believe it supports more than 16 gigs of ram but they would have to use additional memory chips which would use more power. Source: https://twitter.com/DanFrakes/status/791754757404626944
Why not make the new MacBook Pro the thickness of the original first portable Mac and stuff everything not needed for the engineering components full of battery. Sure, it's going to be a lot thicker, it'll weigh more but, fuck me, it'll need recharging once per season! Who's with me?
Yeah seriously, there's no way I'll be able to run multiple instances of guitar rig and kontakt or even have two sessions open at once on this thing but I guess that doesn't matter when I can't plug in a midi controller, an interface or even a USB microphone
Anandtech have [a comparison](http://www.anandtech.com/show/6326/additional-details-on-microns-ddr3lrs-ddr4rs-and-other-memory) suggesting that LPDDR3 is lower power than the low power variants of DDR4. LPDDR4 would be even better, but Intel CPUs don't support it yet.
"Trying?" You're kidding right? They succeeded years ago. I was in university for 7 years and the majority of my classes used MacBook pros, probably 60% or more used them in the last few years when Apple was taking over popularity wise.
It wasn't a first priority when released. WSL is almost up to full Linux Kernel parity now
do people really want a thinner laptop? its already thin enough, make it better in other ways.
