And how is it not? Look around you and see the beauty in everything that exists. Just because we like to come up with explanations of how the world works doesn't make it any less of a miracle.
I believe you that you haven't had a spiritual experience in a lucid dream because you haven't had one in waking life. If you do not think it is possible or that it doesn't exist, then the lens through which you see lucid dreams will also exclude that possibility. It is possible that what some people are calling a spiritual experience you have yourself experienced but refer to it as something else.
Do you believe there are some questions that science cannot answer?
I don't know if there are some questions that science cannot answer. There might be, but I am not sure. Science cannot explain many things as of now, but it might be able to in the future.
I am not sure if spiritual experiences even exist, I sure don't see any evidence of it, seems like what most people describe as a spiritual experience is just a mental shock, an emotional feeling, an odd happening, or something unusual or profound that happened to them, but still likely explainable by science and rational logic about how our universe works or probably works.
You should let the neurosciences know, they're all invested in the idea of hemispheric specialisation.
Well said. I find it funny when people argue about things which they have little knowledge and experience of. Before we argue what's on the moon, shouldn't we at least try to get there? And if someone went there and came back telling us about it, shouldn't we at least consider there might be some truth? My advice is that instead of arguing what's real and not, people should try to experience LDs and altered state of consciousness more... and I don't mean a couple, or a dozen, or even a hundred. They should be experienced as a way of life, in thousands and perhaps much more! Then they will see for themselves what's real and not.
I work in neuroscience, hemispheric specialization (or more appropriately, lateralization) has nothing to do with the "left-brain" "right-brain" mumbo jumbo. It has to do with localization of functions such as handedness and language processes. Not with "Ooo I'm logical so I'm so left brain" "I'm an artist, therefor right brain". It's as bunk as the "we only use 10% of our brain" myth.

Erioth gave the appropriate answer for this. It might not be simple as monster in the closet but a fear more complicated, and also, it's not like not knowing there are no shadow figures and evil supernatural things, you know they don't exist but some people get a little bit scared when they're in the dark and they can't help it. It might be something from childhood or from a horrible event or something. A person can get scared of anything and we might not know the reason, that's why I'm saying we should have respect. And like I said, changing something in your subconsciousness is not easy.
Thank you for that. I am an agnostic and believe there are many mysteries we cannot pin down. To believe purely in materialism or blindly in religion or fluffy new age stuff both seem foolish to me.
I agree completely. We must stay open to the mystery of consciousness. To think we have it all figured out is foolish.

Clearly you have no idea what you're talking about.
Magic is just science we don't understand yet
