When Marketing department has say over Tech department.
Lots and lots of actually educated people. It kind of baffles me how much people are willing to pay for an inferior product just because it has an Apple on it.
To the ones who will say that their applications runs better under the Unix system, that might be totally true, BUT if you bought a non-Apple laptop for the same price, the hardware difference would blow any advantage that the MacOS has.
While some owners of the MacBook Pro have made the right choice with it, they are the minority. Everyone else would be better of with a non-Apple model.
Succeeded, more like. I don't know what university campus he's attended where at least half the laptops weren't MacBook pros
The [Intel datasheet](http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/processors/core/6th-gen-core-family-mobile-u-y-processor-lines-datasheet-vol-1.html) lists 16GB as the max system configuration for LPDDR3. Other memory technologies have higher system limits.
DOS with EXTENDED MEMORY!!!!
Also if *memory* serves, DOS also allowed you to do virtual ram AND ram disks as well.
It really sounds like a repurposed excuse from the iphone and ipad lines.
I would accept it there, they both have much smaller battery budgets and need to be more careful with things like amount of ram.
I mean they're the same people who got rid of the AUX port in their mobile device that was literally evolved from a music player.
This is very annoying, they do this to their phones.... The single biggest issue on smartphones is the battery life.
They have great cameras and everything else now... But the battery won't even last all day under an average user.
Make the batteries larger and the phones thicker!
Pro is supposed to stand for professional. Not ultra light. Not ultra thin. But built for professionals. This prosumer attitude is affecting every corner of their business. Dell here I come.
I'm just waiting for them to get rid of the monitor and say your screen size is now dependent on what iPad pro you buy
Jesus people, stop drinking the Apple juice already. You already pay $2500+ for a web-browsing Facebook machine all the while paying for obsolescence disguised as "features". Honestly, if you're still using Apple products after all this, you're simply a rube.

Like I'd be caught dead at Starbucks with a laptop that didn't match my scarf!
Electrical engineering courses were the perfect use case for the surface pro for me. Typing alongside drawing circuits and writing equations on top of PowerPoint slides all in one cloud-connected application in OneNote is absolute heaven for someone who hates putting pen to paper. Not to mention flipping the keyboard behind and reading textbooks in portrait mode while lying on a couch.
I'm just about fucking sick of this "thinner, but shitty battery life" nonsense. Thin has next to zero value except aesthetics, long battery life has real value.
The first company to produce a reasonably sized laptop with a 24 hour battery is going to change the paradigm significantly.
This guy markets.
We have an external battery charger and 4 batteries for our S4's because my husband chews through batteries and I go through at least 1.5 a day. It's so easy just to leave them charging, swap out and go, than to tie our phone down for 45 minutes to an hour or carry around a power bank. No regrets. Save that I changed phones so now I have to carry around the power bank because the batteries don't work on mine and I haven't gotten spare ones yet :|
At least it's USB-C and not Lightning they're shoving down our throat for once.
2012 15" Retina was my first MacBook and the way things are going it'll be my last too. Still runs perfectly though
Perhaps some kind of pro version?
Now you're just making up acronyms.
Ehh based on the type of people I see using MBPs most frequently I'd guess their primary demographic is wealthy college kids that don't need much more than a word processor and Internet access.
I dunno. Thin means light, and light makes sense for something you carry around with you.
If you're using DIMMs or SO-DIMMs, you're not using LPDDR3. That's always soldered to the board.
What do you do with the rest of the day if you only spend two seconds wallowing in self pity?
It's a macbook PRO! We want power god damnit, screw the battery, everyone with a pro already uses it plugged 24/7
apple computers, the consoles of PCs
> turns out that MSFT has some really great engineers
MSFT has been killing the game lately
can't crash a game if it doesn't already run
Metappleica?
